SHERMAN, TX -- Police say a Sherman woman entrusted to help her elderly aunt with her finances instead stole one of her checks.

Patricia Mishoe, 59, faces a charge of forgery of a financial instrument.

Police say a woman complained her niece had forged one of her checks to pay a $300 vet bill at Texoma Veterinary Hospital in December.

According to court documents, Mishoe later pretended to be the victim while trying to cash a check at the Texas Star Bank.

Mishoe was arrested this week and posted a $7,500 bond.
