Whitesboro Lady Cat softball hopeful for deep playoff run
WHITESBORO, TX -- The Whitesboro Lady Cats are back in the playoffs once again.
They're already a round deep after sweeping Van Alstyne in bi-district play. Now it's area round time as they're groomed for a deep run.
Last season the club made it all the way to the third round. They say that's the farthest they've ever been.
Now with only six losses, two of those coming to 4A teams, they believe they're better suited to be playing come state tournament time.
"I think so because we still made it to the playoffs and I believe we could have beat the teams we did lose to, we just kind of had a bad game and I think we could still go far as we did last year," senior catcher Taren Dillion said.
"This group works hard, they do everything they can for me, everything I ask of them they do. We come out here everyday and work really hard and realizing that we had the talent to go as far as state," head coach Lindsey Lacy added.
They'll open up against Godley Friday night at Saginaw Chisholm Trail.
