Tour For Life Makes Stop In Madill

MADILL, OK -- Several Texoma animal shelters and rescue agencies got together in Madill Friday to help a few four-legged friends find loving homes.

Organizers from the North Shore Animal League allowed local shelters to feature their pets in the organization's tour bus, as part of the league's Tour for Life campaign.

Canines from the Stray Dog Ranch and Forever Friends rescue organizations as well as the Tishomingo Animal Shelter were featured in the bus.

"It's really, really fantastic," said Diane Hagler, founder of the Stray Dog Ranch. "A lot of people think that animal rescue needs to be about controlling every situation but it's great working with these people because nobody feels like that. We're all in it to rescue the animals. It's great."

The campaign received a little bit of help from country music star Miranda Lambert as well.

Organizers say 10 dogs were adopted at Friday's adoption drive.
