ARDMORE, OK -- A federal fugitive is back behind bars Friday after police respond to a call of a possible call of a drive-by shooting in Ardmore.

Police say it happened Thursday night around 9:30 in the 400 block of Park Street near Whittington Park.

Officers say a woman from Ardmore and a man were walking down the street when the woman says she was shot by a passing vehicle.

Detectives say they were unable to find any evidence indicating a drive by.

Ardmore police say the man walking with the woman is actually an escapee from a state prison in Washington.

Jahfel Stubblefield was taken into custody by Ardmore police and is behind bars at the Carter County jail.

Officers say he was not hurt during the shooting.
