GRAYSON COUNTY - A Pottsboro man is behind bars charged with assaulting a DPS trooper.

John Epperson was arrested Tuesday after DPS says he left the scene of a crash.

DPS says the assault happened after Epperson was stopped at FM 1417 and Burger.

He's now accused of assault on a public servant, DWI and obstruction or retaliation.

The trooper is okay.
