DENISON, TX -- A new fundraiser had bikers hitting the road in Denison this morning.

The Greater Texoma Health Clinic is expecting to raise about $8,000 from the first Hawgs for Health. A board member with the clinic says about 40 motorcyclists took part. She says their medical director and some board members are bikers, so they decided to add this to the calendar, along with their fall "Zombie Run."

"We are starting at the clinic and we are gonna end up at Texoma Harley for their big birthday bash, but we've got 4 stops through southern Grayson County, in Whitewright, Westminster, Gunter, and Tioga, so they're all fun stops they're going to have cards at each stop. There's also photo stops," says board member and volunteer Dr. Angela Latham.

The clinic opened in 2002 and takes uninsured patients and some with Medicare and Medicaid and it runs off grants and donations, Latham said.

Latham said half of their patients are from Sherman and they've been busy even after the new federally-funded Grayson County Health Clinic opened last year.
