Four Dead And 14 Injured In Shooting On Post At Fort Hood

KILLEEN, TX -- First responders rushed to Fort Hood after the base reported an active shooter was on post.

There's not a lot of information being released just yet, but Army officials have confirmed that there was a shooting and there have been injuries.

Two U.S. law enforcement officials tell The Associated Press that four people have been killed in a shooting at Fort Hood.
The officials said the four dead in Wednesday's shooting include the shooter.
One of the officials, citing official internal Justice Department updates, says 14 others were hurt.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release information by name.

Commanders at Fort Hood ordered everyone at the base to "shelter in place."

The Bell County Sheriff's Office says deputies and state troopers were dispatched to the base after the base's Twitter feed reported an active shooter on the grounds.

KCEN in Waco is reporting at least one building has been evacuated, and that the entire base has been put on lockdown.

The base was the scene of a mass shooting in 2009.  13 people were killed and more than 30 wounded.
