SHERMAN, TX -- A bank robbery in Sherman has police on the look out for the man who did it.

It happened Monday afternoon and police say the suspect is on the run and may be armed.

Police say around 5 o'clock Monday the man walked in to the Woodforest National Bank inside the Kroger at the corner of Taylor and Loy Lake in Sherman.

They say the man said he had a gun, stole around $1,000 dollars and drove off in a black 2004 Pontiac 4-door.

Witnesses at the scene say they had no idea anything was even going on.

"I just can't believe it, I can't believe it, it's amazing, and you know it just happened just like that, I didn't think anything would happen, somebody would just walk in," said Chrisy and Jesse Moreno, customers.

He's described as a heavy set black man, 6 feet tall with a shaved head in his mid to late 30's.

They say he was wearing a light colored checkered shirt.
