SHERMAN, TX -- A grand jury has indicted a Grayson County senior citizen who is accused of stabbing his own wife.

Buddy Chambers, 73, was arrested three weeks ago after deputies say they got a 9-1-1 call from his wife at their home east of Van Alstyne saying she'd been stabbed.

She was flown to Medical Center of Plano with multiple stab wounds and broken ribs. Chambers is now formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon involving a family member following last week's indictment.

He's being held in lieu of $250,000 bond in the Grayson County Jail while awaiting trial.
