SHERMAN, TX -- Scary moments at a local Jack in the Box early Wednesday morning when police say a drunk man with a gun started causing trouble.

Chase Palmer, 21, was booked in on public intoxication, criminal trespass, and unlawfully carrying a weapon, police said.

Sherman police got a report of a drunk man inside the 24-hour restaurant in the 2300 block of Texoma Parkway with a gun who was trying to get behind the counter.

When they arrived, they found a man back in the cooking area who appeared to be intoxicated, and they say he did not have a handgun license.

Palmer was arrested and then released on about $2,800 bond while awaiting trial.
