DENISON, TX -- A Denison teenager was arrested at school on Wednesday morning after police say the student assaulted a teacher.

It happened at B. McDaniel Middle School around 11 a.m. Police say the 14-year-old started acting out after being removed from class for causing a disturbance.

"A teacher removed the student, took them to the office, and after getting to the office the student became unruly and started swinging arms and wound up assaulting a teacher," says police Lt. Mike Eppler.

The teacher was hit in the mouth had some redness and swelling on his lip. The student was taken to the Grayson County Juvenile Detention Center and faces a charge of assault on a public servant, which is a third-degree felony.
