SHERMAN, TX -- Sherman Police will soon have a high-tech video to help attract new recruits.

Tonight, about a dozen officers were out near Gunter to work on a new recruiting video. They've already put some of the material into a new ad as they try to fill 7 openings.

Police say it can be used for presentations and school visits and will allow them to showcase the department in a way they haven't been able to.

"We've hired Frank Sanza and he's the one that's working professionally to do us a real good job to do a professional video.. We've done several segments dealing with hostage situations and tonight we're doing one involving our special response team where they'll be looking at some explosive entries," says Lt. Bob Fair.

The video will cost several thousand dollars. The deadline to apply for open positions is April 8 and the exam will be held on April 19 at both Sherman High School and Broken Bow High School.
