Dickson hires Gilliam as head football coach

DICKSON, OK -- The Dickson Comets have their new head football coach as they've announced defensive coordinator David Gilliam will take over for Jeremy Reed, who left for Altus.

Gilliam would start his career as a defensive line coach in Claremore before spending six years at rival Plainview, two as the offensive coordinator and four as the defensive coordinator.

He'd later join former Plainview head coach Jeremy Dombeck at Edmond North as the defensive coordinator.

He'd step away from the game after two seasons with the Huskies and join the Ardmore Police Department serving for two years.

"I am very excited to lead this football program, and look forward to great things in Dickson," Gilliam said in a release to KTEN.
