DURANT -- Durant and Ardmore are in the running to win awards for having a stellar main street.

The Oklahoma Main Street Center announced the award finalists Friday.

Categories include organization, promotion, economic restructuring and design.

Durant is a finalist for five awards, something Main Street executive director Tiffany Pierce found out Friday morning.

"I saw it on there once and I kept scrolling and I saw us on there again, and then when I saw that we were on there five times we were even more excited because one is good but five is even better," Pierce said.

Ardmore is a finalist for three awards.

Winners will be revealed at a banquet in Oklahoma City on May 6. The public is invited.
