73-year-old accused of stabbing wife in Grayson County

UPDATE -- According to a press release from the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, "On March 3, 2014 around 9:50am, Grayson County Dispatch received a 911 call from a female who stated she was bleeding to death. EMS and Grayson County Deputies were dispatched to the home in the 1900 block of Bethel Cannon road east of Van Alstyne. When EMS arrived they began to treat the female who had multiple stab & slash wounds along with broken ribs. The victim was taken by air ambulance to a Dallas area hospital where she underwent several hours of surgery. (The victim is now recovering).

The suspect, Buddy Chambers, 73, was arrested near the scene and is the husband of the victim.  Investigators recovered a large knife near the location of Mr. Chambers's arrest. 

Mr. Chambers is currently in the Grayson County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Family Member. His bond has been set at $250,000.00 and he remains in jail."

GRAYSON COUNTY -- An 73-year-old man is behind bars in Grayson County accused of stabbing his wife.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office says the wife called 9-1-1 from their home east of Van Alstyne this morning saying she'd been stabbed.

She was flown to the Medical Center of Plano with multiple stab and slash wounds, and broken ribs.

Her husband was taken into custody not far from the home.

No names are being released right now.

The Sheriff's Office says the victim remains in surgery.
