ECU's Pwono Named GAC Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, ARK. – East Central University men's basketball senior Henry Pwono has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week for March 3 after a career weekend for the Tigers that helped them finish as the No. 4 seed at the 2014 GAC Tournament.

Pwono tallied a career-high 36 points and 15 rebounds in the Tigers' 76-60 win against Southeastern Oklahoma State. On Saturday, he added 28 points and eight rebounds boards against Arkansas Tech. He fueled the second-half comeback as he made 7-of-8 shots including the game-tying lay-up with 16 second left. He made 23-of-31 shots during the week.

ECU will open the 2014 GAC Tournament, Thursday, March 6 at 8 p.m. when they face Harding at Bruin Fieldhouse in Bartlesville, Okla.
