PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, OK -- One of the two inmates who escaped from the Pushmataha County Jail is back in custody.

The sheriff's office says that 30-year-old Michael Avery was arrested Monday night in Choctaw County, one mile north of Highway 70 on Highway 271.

Avery and 30-year-old Clayton Scraper escaped the Pushmataha County jail on Sunday night.

The sheriff's office says the men took off their orange jumpsuits and ran into a wooded area wearing their white t-shirts and boxer shorts.

The sheriff says the two men overpowered an employee to escape.

Scraper is still on the run.
