Whitewright Mother Pleads Guilty In Missing Parent-Teacher Funds Case

SHERMAN, TX -- A Whitewright mother accused of stealing from a parent-teacher group enters a plea.

Court records show Carrie Anderson, 35, pleaded guilty on Friday to a misdemeanor charge of theft under $1,500 and was sentenced to one year of probation.

According to court documents, a total of $3,000 disappeared from the Whitewright Elementary School PTO, including funds from last year's Christmas sale.

When asked repeatedly where the money went, Anderson allegedly said she was trying to get a loan, that the checks were in the mail, and that she had put a deposit in the bank, but the bank lost it.
