Carter County Deputies Discover Meth During Search Warrant

CARTER COUNTY, OK -- Deputies in Carter County were conducting a search warrant for stolen property when in turned into a major drug bust.

The Carter County sheriff's office says deputies executed a search warrant about 1 PM Wednesday afternoon at a home on Gene Autry road for stolen property.

"We got word that possibly stolen items here and also the activity of dope," said Sheriff Milton Anthony.

Sheriff Anthony says deputies found a substantial amount of methamphetamine inside.

"Right now we're field testing some of it and looks like it's going to be a substantial amount," said Anthony.

The sheriff says there were 3 adults and 4 children in the home.

Deputies arrested Breann Watkins, who was charged with trafficking.

Neighbors along Gene Autry Road were shocked at the news.

"I'm surprised it happened anywhere around here," said Russ Martin. "I'm just not aware of anything like that going on around here or anything like that in this neighborhood or this area."

Several other neighbors told us they've witnessed drug activity taking place in this barn behind the house for quite some time, leaving them a little uneasy.

"I don't do drugs and I don't condone it." said Martin. "I'd just as soon not be around people that's like that."

The sheriff's office says deputies are still investigating the case.

The kids are in the custody of the Department of Human Services. None of them were hurt.
