SHERMAN, TX -- The book has officially closed on the Gary Kinne era at Sherman High School.
Tuesday, four days after the head coach turned in his resignation, the school board would approve the motion.
Now the focus shifts to finding a new head coach.
Superintendent Dr. Al Hambrick says the opening has not been posted yet, but they hope to have it up later in the week. He says it could take two months to fill the void.
In the meantime interim athletic director Tommy Hudspeth will be in control of scheduling for the Bearcats upcoming season.
Hambrick says the district appreciates all of the people that have volunteered and supported Sherman ISD athletics over the years and during Kinne's tenure.
"There was a decision made that he made a decision that he wanted to resign from the district and we've accepted the resignation and both sides are just going to move forward," he said.
