DENISON, TX -- We're wrapping up a busy week of signings in Denison as Monica Eslick would sign her letter of intent to play college softball this morning.
Eslick will head three hours west to Vernon to play for the Vernon College Chaparrals.
She'll wrap up her high school career as a four-year starter for the Lady Jackets playing third base.
She loves the small town atmosphere of Vernon setting it apart from other schools interested like Weatherford and Tennessee Tech.
She hopes to head in, get playing time and make the program better and also believes her time at DHS has her prepared.
"It helped me build my passion for the sport and it showed me that I was able to do things other than just play softball and do everything that you can do to be a Denison Yellow Jacket, fulfill the legacy of it," she said.
She plans to major in accounting and hopes to play at a four-year college once her time in Vernon is done.
