SHERMAN, TX -- Austin College women's basketball player Christina Kime has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her outstanding play over this past weekend, the league office has announced.
Kime, a junior from San Diego, led the 'Roos to a 2-0 weekend in the team's first two conference games of the year by averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in road victories over Colorado College and the University of Dallas. Kime scored 19 in a win over the Tigers and went off for a season-high 26 against the Crusaders on Sunday.
For the weekend, Kime shot 52.2% from the field and 45.5% from three point territory while also knocking down 16-of-19 free throw attempts. So far this season, she ranks fifth in the SCAC in scoring, eighth in assists, first in free throw percentage, and eighth in three point percentage.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
