Sherman Symphony Orchestra Performs Delayed Christmas Pops

SHERMAN, TX -- The city's symphony orchestra didn't let the ice storm stop their Christmas performance from happening.

The 2013 Christmas Pops was held on Sunday afternoon at the Kidd-Key Auditorium. Songs included "Peter and the Wolf," "Deck The Halls," and "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers."

Conductor Daniel Dominick says they were happy to be able to finally put on their Christmas show.

"It's not easy to reschedule because we've got 60 players on the stage and their schedules have to work out and the people that want to come to the concert, they have to be able to get tickets," says Dominick. "It's not an easy thing."

Dominick says they do six or seven concerts each year, and they get support from Austin College along with loyal audience members who enjoy coming out to hear them perform time and time again.
