Update on Choctaw Electric Power Outage

This is the most recent statement released from Choctaw Electric regarding power outages in Southeastern Oklahoma:

Choctaw Electric Power Outage Update 12/10/2013, 8:48am

"Crews are still working hard this morning. We still have additional crews from other coops working with us and even more are being brought in today. Chainsaw crews have also been here helping and more are headed this way today. Crews are working very long and tiring hours to get everything restored. As of this morning, an estimated 3,000 customers are still without power in Choctaw, Pushmataha and McCurtain counties. A number of areas were restored yesterday and late into the night. We still have 2 remote areas that we have not been able to get guys to yet, but do have crews headed that way today to start assessing the damage. We have crews working in all areas system wide, and we are continuing to make good progress. Our goal (again this is an estimate) is to have less than 500 out by Friday and less than 200 out by Sunday night. Weather will be a big factor in coming days as well."
