DENISON, TX -- Police are looking for a man they say hit a woman with his car during an altercation at a gas station.

It happened Saturday afternoon at the Valero station on West Morton Street. Police say the woman was upset about the way the man drove into the parking lot.

That's when she walked up to confront the man, and police say he punched her. "The suspect had the door open to his vehicle and backed up and hit the victim with the car door then got out and assaulted her by hitting on her," says police Lt. Mike Eppler.

"He was standing over her and she was laying there pulling on his jacket and there was a bunch of customers around and one of them had called the police and they handed the phone to me," says witness Carrie Battles.

The driver who allegedly hit the woman then fled the scene. She went to the hospital on her own to be checked out. Police are investigating.
