Durant police say home invasion was staged

DURANT -- According to a press release from Durant police, "On September 18, 2013, the Durant Police Department responded to a robbery at the residence located at 1400 East Main Street. A 16 year-old male subject reported that while he was at home alone, he heard a knock at the door. He advised that when he opened the door three male subjects disguised with T-shirt masks, forcibly entered his home and pushed him to the ground.  He reported the subjects bound his hands and feet with duct tape and placed him in his bathroom. The subjects reportedly ransacked the home and stole numerous items that belonged to the victim's father.  These items include firearms, ammunition, and cross bows. The victim advised that he was able to free himself after the subjects left, and he ran for help.

During an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division, Detectives learned that the home invasion had been falsely reported and that the guns had in fact been pawned by convicted felon Haydon Davis and Shawn Halley who had obtained the guns from the juveniles who planned and fabricated the home invasion robbery report.

A report has been forwarded to the Bryan County District Attorney's office requesting warrants be issued for Shawn Halley and Hayden Davis. A report has also been submitted to the Office of Juvenile Affairs, to be reviewed since the 16 year-old subject knowingly filed a false police report."
