ARDMORE, OK-- Elementary school students at Ardmore city schools collected more than 2,000 food items for local families in need.

The items will go to the Ardmore City Schools Resource Center, a food pantry for their students who are homeless or in need.

They'll be making care packages for Thanksgiving break because the students aren't in school and won't be getting school meals.

Students collected items November 11th-15th.  Will Rogers Elementary collected 1,500 of the 2,000 items.

Ms. Cramer's class collected the most, with 362-items. Student Cloe Muniz was recognized because she spent her own money buying canned food items and her grandmother matched her donation.
