GRAYSON COUNTY, TX---- Choosing where to eat in Grayson County may be a little bit easier  thanks to a new phone application that gives instant access to the grades food establishments receive from county health inspections.

The application is called FoodFumble and it currently supports eateries in Grayson and Collin County.

"When you're dining out, you really don't know what is going on back behind the kitchen because it's a closed kitchen environment," creator of FoodFumble Noel Geren said.

That is the main reason why Geren created the application, which conveniently provides transparency in health inspection ratings.

The application ranks restaurants in four categories and represents these rankings with plates. In Grayson County, a plate with a star means an "A" rating from the health department, a plate without a star means a "B" rating and a cracked plate means a rating of "C" or below.

"We also have a checked or rechecked plate," Geren said. "That means either they need an initial inspection because it's their first inspection or they had a bad inspection and they're having those items rechecked."

You can search and sift through every single place that serves food in Grayson County by your location or by entering a specific name in the search bar. The application is completely free and can be downloaded in the App Store.
