Note: these rankings are solely based on how well a team is playing. For example, a Class 4A team would more than likely handle any Class A team no matter records.
10. Thackerville Wildcats: 8-0, (5-0) - 406 PF, 74 PA - LW: NR
Cody McCage's 2013 Wildcats look every bit as good as their state runner up 2008 squad. They've spent their season rolling through their opposition and now head in to Week 10 one of only four area unbeatens.
9. Denison Yellow Jackets: 6-3, (5-1) - 336 PF, 253 PA - LW: NR
Welcome back to the power rankings, Denison High. They'd spend their Week 9 beating Greenville by 50 and clinching the program's first playoff berth since 2009. All that stands in their way between an outright district title and top seed is the McKinney North Bulldogs. Expect a wild crowd at Munson Stadium come Friday night.
8. Pottsboro Cardinals: 9-1, (6-0) - 251 PF, 187 PA - LW: #10
The Pottsboro Cardinals get to relax in Week 10. Clever scheduling. They're coming off their third straight district title -- a program high. So much for a rebuilding year, these guys are good.
7. Whitesboro Bearcats: 8-1, (5-0) - 383 PF, 106 PA - LW: #7
Whitesboro is quietly staking their claim as one of the top programs in all of Texas 2A. They've reeled off seven straight wins and have at least a share of the 5-2A title. They'll try to win it this Friday night at home against Boyd.
6. Ringling Blue Devils: 7-1, (6-0) - 312 PF, 48 PA - LW: #6
Ringling had an unexpected bye week as Bray-Doyle was forced to forfeit because they didn't have enough to play. So chalk it up as a 15-0 shut out for Tracy Gandy's squad. They're still ranked No. 1 in Class A and looked primed for their first title defense in school history.
5. Ardmore Tigers: 8-1, (6-0) - 251 PF, 95 PA - LW: #4
Ardmore is dropping a spot but hanging in the top five after their come from behind win in Altus last week. They'd trail the Bulldogs two scores, but would show that patented Tiger resiliency marching back for a one point win. Now they're heading into Friday night the fourth ranked team in Class 5A, hosting 6th ranked Lawton MacArthur for all the 5A-1 marbles.
4. Lone Grove Longhorns: 8-1, (6-0) - 450 PF, 207 PA - LW: #5
Look who's moving up a spot? It's Jeremy Turner's Lone Grove Longhorns, who are in the middle of the best season they can remember. All the doubters have been shut up all season long, and they can make them hush once and for all this Friday as they travel to Plainview with the 3A-4 crown on the line. All aboard the Longhorn bandwagon.
3. Davis Wolves: 9-0, (5-0) - 409 PF, 129 PA - LW: #2
Davis is dropping, but not far. The Wolves are still scorching - they'd score 43 in the first half against Coalgate last week and have outscored opponents an average of 45-13. All they have to do is get past Tishomingo and they've locked down another perfect 10-0 regular season. Expect them to be standing past Thanksgiving.
2. S&S Rams: 9-0, (4-0) - 379 PF, 133 PA - LW: #3
You did it S&S. You are one game away from climbing the 10 week mountain. Your town considers you the best team in the program's history and the numbers back it up. All eyes will be on the Leonard game this Friday where the Rams can take the 7-2A Division 2 title all to themselves if they can find away to keep the train rolling against the Tigers.
1. Plainview Indians 9-0, (6-0) - 445 PF, 63 PA - LW: #1
Did you expect anybody else at No. 1? This is our fourth edition of this poll and Plainview hasn't budged. The Indians are a force to be reckoned with, ask any of the nine teams they've played this season. Two home playoff games are on the line though Friday night at the 'View. Our No. 4 Longhorns would love to take them back out west on highway 70 with 'em.
Teams dropping from rankings:
9. Ada Cougars - Week 9: 33-20 loss at McLoud
8. Gunter Tigers - Week 9: 28-14 loss at S&S
