Weekend Festival Celebrating "Day Of The Dead" Wraps Up In Denison

DENISON, TX -- A new weekend festival wrapped up this afternoon in Denison. For the second year, the Denison Arts Council organized Dia de Los Muertos.

There was a parade on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday, Austin College was back with a specially decorated "party bus." Students from Grayson College and local artists also made some of the decorations for the event, Arts Council president and gallery owner Mary Karam said.

At a building at the Katy Depot they call the Peanut Gallery, there was an exhibition of some art work. That's where a three-hour painting  exercise on Friday night resulted in some big murals put on display in Heritage Park, organizer and Grayson art professor Steve Black said.
