Cattle Thief Wanted in Pontotoc County

ADA, OK--Agents with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry are on the lookout for a Pontotoc County cattle thief.

According to chief agent Jerry Flowers, 48-year-old Larry Smith--known as "Snag"--and an accomplice are wanted for stealing 99 heads of cattle from rancher Jet McCoy earlier this month.

Mccoy is best known for his performance on "The Amazing Race" with his brother, Cord. So far, there is documentation that 43 of the 99 were sold through the Atoka Livestock Market. Flowers says the two are on the run.

"Right now, 'Snag' is running in southeast Oklahoma," said Flowers. "He is avoiding us, trying to keep from getting caught. And we are, of course, actively pursuing any information that anybody in the public might have as to where he might be or his location."

The two men are facing 43 counts of larceny of domestic animals. Smith's bond is set at $500,000.
