Denison is on the Verge of Explosion in Economic Growth

DENISON, TX -- The city of Denison is on the verge of exploding in an economic sense.

"Denison is in the best position that I think it has been in, in over 30 or 40 years; mainly because of things that have happened in the last two years, so the outlook is incredible," says Tony Kaai, the President of the Denison Developmental Alliance.

The city is upgrading its school systems and has a brand new high school in the making.

"That's the launching point for everything that is going to happen. When people come to a community one of the first things they look at is the school system and the facilities and probably the second thing is medical care," says Kaai.

That is expanding as well, Texoma Medical Center hospital opened up a whole new floor devoted to women's health.

And there's even more.

"We broke ground on the Hilton Inn and Conference Center last week, so all that's land around the Hilton is what we going to be working on to try and get restaurants and retail in there," says Kaai.

Plus there is growth around Lake Texoma with the Schuler project.

"The vision is 4000 new homes, a 5-star hotel, some retail, two golf courses, a marina; the vision is incredible," says Kaai.

All this expansion leads to more jobs in the area.

"We have a lot of investment going on, a lot of construction going on , we have been working this plan for quite a while and things are starting to come together. It's a good time to live in Denison," says Robert Brady, the Former Denison Mayor and Chairman of the Board for the Denison Developmental Alliance.

The reason for all the expansion.

"All these things are happening in Denison and its not by chance. Its because of a hard working approach from a lot of people everyday that go and try to make Denison the best place it can be," says Jared Johnson, Mayor of Denison.
