DENISON, TX -- Five more building demolitions are set to go before council members, along with a major one that has already been approved.

The new proposed demolitions include two buildings that adjoin the Eisenhower Birthplace property. They are located at 226 East Nelson and 228 East Nelson.

Also, 522 East Acheson, 619 West Chestnut, and a building on the property at 715 West Texas.  City officials say these structures are dilapidated, dangerous, and a nuisance.

They'll also discuss accepting a $115,000 bid by Lavon, Tex.-based Lonestar Demolition to remove the old Central Ward School in the 700 block of West Sears Street.

The old school is now in the hands of a private owner who wants to turn it into an event hall for chess tournaments. Council meets Monday at 6 p.m.
