MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK -- An Oklahoma woman is dead after an all-terrain-vehicle crash in a wooded area of McCurtain County.

Troopers say it happened around 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon on a forestry road eight miles west of Highway 259 and two miles south of Bethel.

Reta Brown, 53, of Mustang, was pronounced dead after her ATV went off the road to the right, traveled 68 feet, and struck a tree, troopers said.

According to a preliminary Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Brown was wearing a helmet but no seatbelt. The cause is under investigation.
