DURANT, OK -- Investigators are checking a Bryan County police officer's phone to see if he reported a crime that didn't happen.

The iPhone was taken to the OSBI office in Durant and a judge gave consent to search it. According to court documents, Bokchito reserve officer Allen Lee Golden reported he was pursuing a pickup truck in the northeast part of the county back in September, and that at least one suspect fired at him, while Golden returned fire.

However, investigators believe some of Golden's statements about the incident may be false.

The OSBI  confirms they were called to assist at the crime scene for an officer-involved shooting. So far, no charges have been filed.
