Man Is Dead After Striking Guard Rail

DENISON, TX -- A man is dead after striking a guard rail with his bike Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. just north of the Crawford Street exit in Denison.

Police say 33-year old Benjamin Alexander Corbett was heading north when he lost control, slammed into the back of another car, and hit the left guard rail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt in the accident.

Police say Corbett was not wearing a helmet at the time.

"What it appears right now is the motorcycle did make contact with a vehicle in front of him, lost control and struck a guard rail," said Lt. Mike Eppler, of the Denison Police Department.

Traffic northbound on Highway 75 was backed up for over an hour but crews were able to get the roads back open.
