DICKSON, OK ---- The Dickson Comets have never soared past the second round of the playoffs. In fact, the Comets haven't made it into the playoff atmosphere since 2009. They'd like to change that this season and in order to do that, they'll have to improve on 2012's 4-6 record.
"Throughout this summer ...As the attendance shows, we've been here pretty much, almost 100 percent of the time. Through that were gonna have hard work and discipline and that should really push us through to win more ball games than last year," Dickson senior running back/corner back/safety, Dylon MCgee said.
The Comets haven't had much success when it comes having a winning -record. In fact, Dickson has only handful of winning seasons in school history. But don't tell that to the 2013 Comet squad.
"Were hoping to be able to make it to the playoffs. We will make it to the playoffs. And we hope to host a game at our home field," McGee said.
"I just think that this year is special. I think were gonna come out and shock a lot of people," Dickson senior linebacker/wide receiver, Chanler Towler said.
Head coach Jeremy Reed agrees with this players. There's just something about this year.
"Team chemistry, I think there's intangibles with this group that you can't really put your finger on. I wouldn't trade this group for any other team, just because of their dedication, their commitment to what were trying to get accomplished here in Dickson," Head coach Jeremy Reed said.
