Free Back to School Immunization Clinic Begins

ARDMORE, OK-- It's hard to believe the first day of school for most districts in the area is less than a month away. Local health officials are hosting a back to school vaccination clinic to make sure students are caught up on their shots.

The free clinic will start August 1st at the Carter County Health Department in Ardmore and will go on until August 6th.

Health Dept. Coordinating Nurse, Kristi Inselman, said the shots will only be offered at the clinic and they will not be provided at the schools this year something she said will make the process easier for everyone.

Inselman said it's important for students to get their immunizations before school starts.

"It's important to get them before you get back to school, before you get around a lot of children again, it helps protect you against these diseases that are out there and it helps increase your immunity to those," said Inselman.

The Immunization Clinic Dates are the Following.

August 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th from 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
