ARLINGTON, TX -- A woman has died while riding a roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas.

The incident happened just after 6:30p.m. Friday night.  A statement issued by the park says the woman died while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster.

There's been no word on exactly how the woman died. Six flags closed off the section of the park around the accident site temporarily but didn't say for how long.

A woman waiting in line at the time describes the chaotic scene.

"When it pulled up the woman's son and daughter were hysterical.  The men sitting behind her said they came down the first hill, hit the first turn and that's when she flew out."

The Texas Giant reaches 14 stories high and has a drop of 79 degrees. It can carry up to 24 riders.

Authorities are still investigating how the accident happened.
