3 Vehicle Accident Holds up Traffic in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX-- A three car accident in Sherman backed up traffic for almost an hour Wednesday evening.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 75 near Fallon Drive. Police tell KTEN it happened around five o'clock Wednesday night, when a truck slowed causing an SUV to swerve and another vehicle to slam into both of them. The accident left the side of one SUV crushed, trapping a person inside until emergency crews arrived.

" Five people total were involved. Three were injured. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening at this time. But our critical accident investigation team is doing a more thorough investigation in case there are any questions later on." Says Lieutenant Stephen Dean with the Sherman police department.

Highway 75 northbound was shut down for about thirty minutes while first responders worked the scene. A little after six o'clock crews opened up one lane to northbound traffic.
Sherman police tell us, all lanes were opened back up by 7 o'clock.

Investigators are still trying to determine what factors caused the wreck.
