GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Firefighters say a man who may have been suffering from heat's effects was hospitalized after being found unresponsive near the Denison Dam.

A helicopter was called to the Texas side of the dam around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday for an unconscious man who appeared to be having either heat stroke or an actual stroke, Denison fire battalion chief Harley Davis said.

The man in his 40s was apparently outside fishing for a long period of time. A helicopter landed around 4:45 p.m. to take him to the hospital in Plano.
