    ARDMORE, OK -- A man accused of leading authorities on two separate high speed chases through two southern Oklahoma counties was back in court today. James Conn Nipp pleaded not guilty to the charge of endangering others while eluding police.The charge stems from a chase in Carter County that happened on January 22.Nipp is also accused of running from authorities in Love County last July.Police believe 17-year old Molly Miller and 21-year old Colt Haynes were in the car with Nipp that night.T...More >>

    MURRAY COUNTY, OK -- An overturned semi shut down the part of Interstate 35 after troopers say the driver was going too fast around a curve.Troopers say if drivers don't start slowing down, accidents like this will continue to happen. Truck driver Jerry Harris is just glad nobody else was hurt. "It could of been a heck of a lot worse," said Harris.The truck driver lost control along an on ramp curve near Davis, Oklahoma to merge onto I-35 southbound when troopers say he was going to fast. TEXOMA -- The 4th of July is a great time to be with family and friends. All across Texoma there are events going on to celebrate the 4th.

Sherman kicks off its celebration Wednesday night July 3rd out at Pecan Grove West Park off 1417.

"The Sound House band is going to open us up and then we have the Hunter Smith band who will play a set and then we will watch an amazing aerial fireworks and then the hunter smith band will play again," explains Diana Adair, Tourism Manager for the City of Sherman.

It is the fourth year the Lights on the Lake event has been put on in Sherman.

Denison has their firework festivities beginning on the actual holiday, July 4th. There will be food and activities for kids. Also a free concert featuring Blue Rock band which will be going on all night.  

"Watch the music, that starts at 7, and then about 9:30ish, whenever it gets dark we'll have the lights go out and we'll see the fireworks, and it's going to be over 30 minutes for the show, last year we had comments that it was the best ever," says Donna Dow, Main Street Coordinator for Denison.

Fireworks put on by the Denison fire department will shoot off from Munson stadium beginning at 9:30.

Across the Red River, Durant has two nights of fun to celebrate the nation's holiday. Thursday night the fun is at Choctaw Casino and Resort with a festival and fireworks beginning at 9pm.

Friday night, July 5th there is another display of fireworks out at Lake Texoma put together for the first time with a festival and concert this year.

"Fireworks have been there for several years but this is a new twist adding the vendors and some other activities, the concert, the children's venue I think its going to a fun day for everyone," says Janet Reed, Durant's Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

The fun begins at 4pm Friday night.

Ardmore is hosting its firework show the night of July 4th out at Lake Murray State Park.
