ARDMORE, OK-- Police said a weekend accident leaves one teen dead and two others injured.

It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the 3400 block of South Carter Road.

Ardmore police are not releasing the names at this time, but said the vehicle went off the road causing the car to rollover at least once, ejecting a 15-year-old male who later died.

Investigators said the 17-year-old male driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital in Oklahoma City and a 16-year-old male passenger was taken to a local hospital.

Police are still investigating but witnesses said they believe the car swerved off the road after trying to avoid hitting an animal in the road.
