BONHAM, TX -- A man involved in a police pursuit that ended with a deputy's death has been indicted by a grand jury in Fannin County.

Prosecutors say Clinton Espy, 37, of Paris, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest. Espy's face was cut during the incident.

Police say they chased him from Silo Road in Bonham toward Sherman back in April. They had him stopped on Highway 82 and Bethany Road when Grayson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chad Key was struck by a different oncoming car and killed while directing traffic around the scene.

Espy's bond was set at $175,000. If convicted, he faces five years to life in prison and a $20,000 fine.
