ARDMORE, OK-- With summer heating up, so is the fight against mosquito that may carry West Nile.

City officials in Ardmore said they spray every morning to help fight against the virus, but they said they need the public's help in reporting stagnant pools of water.

Officials said it's the perfect place for mosquitos to breed, and officials with the carter county health department agree.

"it's important to drain or treat any standing water around the house so the mosquito's won't breed," said Clarizza Carroll, District Nurse manager.

Carroll said to remember to always stay protected when going outdoors with insect repellent that has 30% DEET, Lemon eucalyptus, and picaridin.
