Sherman Arts Groups To Plead For Hotel Tax Money

SHERMAN, TX -- Three arts groups are ready to plead for funding from city leaders who are busy planning next year's budget.

Representatives from the Sherman Museum, the Theatricks children's theater and the Sherman Council for the Arts and Humanities, which organizes the Sherman Arts Festival, are set to go before city council members at their meeting on Monday evening at 5 p.m. at City Hall.

The groups want their share of hotel-motel tax funds, which come from hotel guests' bills.

In other business, Mayor Cary Wacker is set to discuss re-instituting the Keep Sherman Beautiful Commission.
