BELLS, TX -- Panther baseball player Garrett Virgin just wrapped up a great career and has decided to take it to the next level to play for the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets.
He chose the program over Dallas Baptist, Abilene Christian, McMurray and Southeastern.
He says he loved HPU's campus and the open arms the coaching staff showed.
Now he's excited to start a new chapter in his life and feels ready.
"Honestly, just baseball in general has prepared me for what's coming up. My teammates, they've all supported me, my coach, and everything. And just being here, and having the support of these close friends and close coaches and stuff like that, I think that's gotten me as far as I've gotten now," he said.
He plans to major in English and become a teacher and coach.
