Ardmore Organization Raises Money for Cancer Children

ARDMORE, OK-- A Texoma organization is teaming up with a nationwide organization to help raise money for children with cancer.

Officials with the Ardmore little theatre are trying to encourage children to make a difference in their community by helping to raise money for "Alex's Lemonade Stand" a childhood cancer foundation.

The foundation was founded after an 8-year-old girl named Alex passed away to cancer, But before passing away Alex was able to raise more than a $1,000,000 nationwide through lemonade stands.

Now one local mother wants to help raise money for other sick children.

"I was moved by Alex's lemonade stand from reading about the organization and with my experience with my son and his experiences in the hospital and seeing those families," said mother of two Lucy Hicks.

Hicks said a lemonade stand will be held in the lobby during one of the theatre's upcoming plays on June 6th and 7th at the Charles B. Goddard center in Ardmore.
