CARTER COUNTY, OK -- Troopers say an Ardmore man is in critical condition after being thrown from the motorcycle he was riding this morning.

It happened just after 11 a.m. on Saturday on Springdale Road, less than a mile east of Ardmore in Carter County.

According to a preliminary Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Wesley Esteph, 52, of Ardmore, was heading east when his Harley Davidson motorcycle crossed the center and ran off the road.

Esteph was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from his bike into a ditch, and he was flown to OU Medical Center, troopers said. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
