Officials say the list of injured or killed in Wednesday night's tornados in Texas could have been much worse because the tornados were in such highly populated areas. Storm chasers say they saw multiple drivers trying to take cover underneath highway overpasses, which is the worst place to seek shelter because of the force of the winds.

The update on the Texas Twisters as of 9:00am Thursday:

A leader of a North Texas city devastated by a tornado that left six people dead thinks most missing residents have been located. Granbury Mayor Pro Tem Nin Hulett said Thursday that the highest priority is to get people into shelters. Meanwhile, in Cleburne,  Mayor Scott Cain early Thursday announced the disaster designation due to widespread damage and loss of property. He says emergency responders will do a house-to-house search for potential victims.

We are also learning of flights canceled or delayed out of DFW. Fort Worth-based American Airlines on Thursday canceled 25 flights at DFW Airport. Spokeswoman Andrea Huguely says 24 American Eagle flights have been canceled.
